Below we have listed the various projects and committees the Community Council is currently involved in. Where possible, we have included further details of the projects/committees, including providing minutes and other relevant information. Lochore Meadows In June 2014 Fife Coast & Countryside Trust (FCCT) was asked by Fife Council to take over the management of the Park on a pilot basis until 31st March 2016. As part of the pilot, FCCT were asked to put in place a new governance structure, which would help the day to day operations of the Park as well as improve communication and involvement of key stakeholders. 4 Winds Trust The 4 winds trust is a community development fund established to administer the distribution of the funds which will be provided via the Little Raith Wind Farm and is made up of two representatives from each the four community councils. The 4 Winds Trust is registered as a charitable organisation (Scottish Charity Number SC043913) View Page
Mossmorran & Braefoot Bay Community & Safety Committee The Mossmorran Committee is in place to discuss and raise issues surrounding the operations of Shell and ExxonMobil at the Mossmorran Petrochemical Plant and Braefoot Bay. Meetings are held quarterly in any one year with representatives attending from Community Councils surrounding the facilities and elected Councillors. Meetings are closed to the public. View Page
Public Park Improvement Group Lochgelly Public Park was one of the most used facilities in our town for a number of years. Sadly over a number of decades, through the lack of investment and less frequent maintenance of the facility it’s way below what we would expect and deserve. View Page
Jubilee Park The Jubliee Park is community owned land adjacent to Grace Street and has been actioned for improvements by the Lochgelly Community Council for many years. A special project fund has long been established to help carry out some of the proposed works. Below we have provided further information for all development work at the Jubilee Park. View Page
Hilton Wind Farm (CC Engagement) AMEC Wind Developments are proposing shared ownership of 1/6th of a virtual turbine for communities that wish to invest in the Hilton Wind Farm. Currently the following Community Councils are holding discussions around the ownership offer; View Page
Community Liaison Forum (Little Raith) The Little Raith Community Liaison Forum is in place to discuss and raise issues surrounding the operations of Kennedy Renewables at the Little Raith power plant. View Page
Public Notice Boards (Proposed) To put in place a series of public noticeboards in the central area of Lochgelly and scattered throughout the town to help improve engagement rates with the Lochgelly Community Council, as well as increase awareness of the work conducted by the Lochgelly Community Council. Noticeboards will also be able to be utilised by local groups, and will serve as a shared resource between groups and the local community. View Page
